Welcome to Fursuiting in Action, a panel that seeks to bring fursuiters together to learn about the leading edge theories of fursuit performance. Experience with fursuiting is highly encouraged for attendees to grant the largest benefit. This panel aims to provide communal awareness and knowledge to how fursuiting works, how it draws in the attention of others, and make successful fursuiting scenes in both public and con-space settings.

This panel is highly interactive and will require volunteer fursuiters (both partial and full) to ensure its success!

In this session in particular, our host, the King of Purple, will divulge his latest theories of fursuiting and attempt to explain how these work with attracting crowds of onlookers and take audience fursuiters on stage to demonstrate how this works and teach many on how to apply them in the real world.

We will be covering the following theories of fursuiting through the course of the panel. With each of these we will pull volunteers out of the audience to perform them and learn with the hosts:

     a. Theory of States of Suiting (Active vs. Inactive)
     b. Theory of Energy Levels (Low, Med, High)
     c. Theory of Engagement Levels (Solo, Peer, Group)
     d. Theory of Fursuit Prop Use
2. Character Appearance
     a. Theory of Fursuit Prop Display
     b. Theory of Fursuit Attire
3. Public Entertainment
     a. Theory of Attention Attraction

As with any type of theory work, we are not saying these are correct, but we challenge everyone to give us feedback and reflect on how it works and develop your own theories too!

It's time to let go of those adult responsibilities and just be a kid again! What's better than an AnthroCoaster? The theme-park and goodies surrounding it! What kid doesn't like a big bag of popcorn, cotton candy, or ice cream? Well, we might not have those, but we'll try to have at least the scratch-and-sniff stickers! Get on the nostalgia ride with us, as we explore what it means to be Young at Heart once more. We encourage our guests to this panel to bring toys for sharing (and hand-sanitizer too), but please - no sharing of food or drink.


This event prohibits recording: No photos. No video. No audio. Please keep phones on silent and put away. Please do not bring any sort of camera or recording device; you will be told to leave.

FAQ:

Q: Can I take photos / video?

No. Never. Cannot. Zip. Zilch. Do not get a grab bag, do not get to hear story time. If it can take a photo, video, record sound, or any combination thereof, it is NOT permitted during the panel. This includes before (lining up), during, and after (while everybody is exiting). We do NOT want cameras anywhere near the panel and our guests. You will be told to leave and may end up at ConOps explaining yourself.

Q: AnthroCon has a clause about photos and videos that says...
A: We're permitted by AnthroCon to forbid the use of camers and other devices at our panel. Even if it's a pinhole camera made out of a cereal box, you will be told to leave.

Q: But I really want to take photos for (insert reason).
A: There are zero exceptions to our photo / recording policy.

Q: I'm just going to play on my phone, then...
A: Any smart device is to be put on silent or turned off, and put away for the duration of the panel. The only exceptions are medically-necessary devices such as CGMs and non-verbal communication devices. If we see a person with their phone (or other device) out and acting suspiciously with it, that person will be told to leave.



Q: Will there be security?

A: We have asked for badge-checkers at the door and expressed a need for them to remain for the duration of the panel. What AnthroCon can provide is based around how many volunteers are available at the time. We will be doing our best to minimize the number of people coming in after we close the doors, but also understand some people may arrive late. We'll do our best to let our guests in and keep nebby individuals and minors out.



Q: What is the panel like?

A: Young at Heart is like a big playdate. Near the start of the panel, a children's book will be read to help set the mood, and grabbags will be handed out. The items within the grabbags vary slightly to encourage friend-making through swapping stickers and activity books. We provide crayons and activity / colouring sheets to encourage parallel play. The middle of the panel is free time, allowing for this interaction. Towards the end of the panel, we have the children's book parodies with cheeky adult humor. We do these at the end because we realise not everybody wants to hear these stories while in littlespace. You are free to leave as soon or late as you wish, and nobody will force you to interact with anybody. If you're sitting alone, however, one of the panel hosts might come to check on you to make sure you're okay. ♥ We want everybody to be comfortable as possible.



Q: I'm bringing snacks for my small friend group, is that okay?

A: 100% a-okay! If you're bringing something like cookies for your current friends who you know will be at the panel, it's fine. But please share only among your small group. You (the food-bringer) are also responsible for cleaning up any mess caused by partaking in said snacks. Even though the point of the panel is to make new friends, we do not bring snacks for everybody. What we're avoiding is tons of cumbs, candy, and wrappers on the floor. We also have to mind the rules of AnthroCon, which prohibits the vending of food at panels. Above all else, we're keeping safety in mind. Your snacks might have something others are allergic to.

They're plush, they're posable, and they are highly addictive! This is second annual meeting of our informal group. Art dolls are an art form that is growing in popularity in furry fandom. Come join us as we talk about all things art doll; from their construction, outstanding and notable constructions from the past year and beyond, and who to watch in the future. If you have a collection, bring some of your favorites along!

Steel City Pups and Pittsburgh Paws and Claws are happy to bring you an exciting two-part 18+ event! We'll begin with an open round table discussion all about the wonderful world of pet play. This will be led by a panel of local pet-related organizers ranging in experience and species. An excellent opportunity to answer your questions or share your passion. The romp will begin shortly after the round table has wrapped up, at which time all pets and handlers are welcome to engage in play on the mats. A group photo will be taken towards the end of the event, for anyone interested in participating.

Furry yoga is a weekly free program hosted on Youtube! The purpose of this panel is to spread the reach of this twist on Yoga! Over the course of the panel workshop Fuzz Buttons teaches everyone the basics of Yoga with a furry costume twist! Feel the power of yoga & entertainment with Furry Yoga.
